Director Woody Allen and his wife Soon-Yi Previn —best known for their highly controversial relationship—were spotted enjoying a casual date in Santa Monica, California on July 26 (local time), according to the Daily Mail.
Even after 28 years of marriage, the couple appeared affectionate, walking arm-in-arm and holding hands as they left a well-known local restaurant.

Soon-Yi, Allen’s third wife, married the director in 1997. The couple have two adopted daughters and have kept a relatively low profile in recent years. But their appearance has once again sparked intense debate, as the origins of their relationship remain one of Hollywood’s most disturbing stories.
Soon-Yi was the adopted daughter of actress Mia Farrow, with whom Allen had been in a relationship from 1980 to 1992. During this time, Allen began a secret relationship with Soon-Yi, which reportedly came to light when Farrow discovered nude photographs of her daughter in Allen’s study.

The scandal erupted further when, after their breakup, Farrow accused Allen of sexually abusing their 7-year-old adopted daughter Dylan Farrow. While the court deemed Allen’s behavior toward Dylan “inappropriate” and revoked his custody rights, the court did not find sufficient evidence for a sexual abuse conviction.
Adding to the complexity, Moses Farrow, another adopted child of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen, later claimed that Dylan was never abused by Allen and instead accused Farrow of abuse.

Despite his infamous personal life, Woody Allen remains a prominent filmmaker with acclaimed works such as Annie Hall, Scoop, Midnight in Paris, and Blue Jasmine. He continues to have supporters in Hollywood, including Scarlett Johansson, Diane Keaton, Jude Law, and Sean Penn.
While many remain critical of Allen’s past, his recent outing with Soon-Yi shows that the couple is still going strong—though the controversy surrounding their union shows no signs of fading.
