The YouTube project “Today’s Debut Team” brings together an unlikely girl group made up of popular Korean creators to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Korea’s Liberation Day. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and YouTube channel Studio Welcome, the program aims to unite generations through K-pop.
The lineup features beloved creator Friendship-ing, SWF2 dancer Amy, rapper Mirani, and former LOONA member Hyunjin. Their goal? To debut as a performance group on August 15, 2025 — the official anniversary of Korea’s liberation — and to donate 100% of the song’s proceeds to descendants of Korean independence activists.

Their debut track will be produced by EJAE, the composer behind “Golden” by fictional girl group HUNTR/X from the Netflix hit K-pop Demon Hunters. EJAE, whose Billboard-charting success has elevated Korean culture globally, reportedly joined the project in full support of its mission and symbolic value.
The song will feature a melody by EJAE paired with heartfelt lyrics written by the members themselves, aiming to convey the significance of liberation through music and performance. The track will premiere on the Liberation Day stage during the 2025 Music Festival for Liberation, a national-scale event designed to unify Koreans through music.
While each member initially hesitated to join, all four expressed strong agreement with the project’s message. Despite their busy schedules, the team is fully immersed in vocal and performance training.
