Woman who attempted to blackmail Lee Sun-kyun appears in court holding her child again “Even the judge complains”
Former movie actress B, who was accused of extorting 50 million won by threatening the late actor Lee Sun-kyun, admitted to the charges in court. Once again, she appeared in court holding a baby
The lawyer representing A (30, female), adult entertainment establishment head who was indicted for blackmailing the late actor Lee Sun-kyun, attended the first trial held on March 14th at the Incheon District Court, presided over by Judge Hong Eun-sook of Criminal Division 4.
On this day, A’s lawyer denied the charges, stating that A only informed the late Lee Sun-kyun about being threatened by a hacker. The lawyer further stated that they would provide more specific opinions on the charges at the next hearing.
The lawyer for former movie actress B, who was also indicted for blackmail and attempted blackmail, said “We generally acknowledge the facts stated in the indictment” and added that they would provide more specific opinions at the next trial.
Just like during her preliminary hearing before arrest last December, B appeared in court holding a baby. Despite criticism from netizens regarding B bringing a child to court following the death of Lee Sun-kyun, she still brought the baby to this appearance, which received a cold reception.
The baby cried throughout the trial, prompting Judge Hong to ask, “Can’t your parents take care of the baby? Are you going to keep bringing the baby to court for every trial?“
To this, B replied, “Yes.” When asked about her occupation by the presiding judge, she calmly answered, “Self-employed.”
Earlier, A was charged with extorting 300 million won by calling Lee and saying, “An unknown hacker is trying to expose our relationship. We should stop it with money.”
B, who has a previous conviction for fraud, met A, who has six previous convictions for drug use, in prison and later lived in the apartment above A’s for about 7 years.
Upon learning that A used Philopon and was close to Lee, B committed the crimes using an illegal Usim chip.
Unable to get money from A, B directly threatened Lee in October last year, resulting in charges of extorting 50 million won.
