Will Kim Soo-hyun X Kim Ji-won’s “Queen of Tears” become successor to “Sejak, The Enchanted” in 2024?

“Queen of Tears” starring Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won, which was originally scheduled for 2023 but faced delays, is being considered as a possible successor to “Sejak, The Enchanted” starring Jo Jung-suk and Shin Se-kyung

According to Star News on November 1st, tvN’s new drama “Sejak, The Enchanted” (directed by Jo Nam-gook, written by Kim Sung-deok, produced by C-JeS) will be scheduled as a tvN Saturday-Sunday drama. The work is set for mid-January 2024, following the airing of “Maestra” starring Lee Young-ae and Lee Moo-saeng, which is planned for December.

“Sejak, The Enchanted” draws the cruel love story between King Lee In (Jo Jung-suk), who is in danger of both royal and political power struggles, and Kang Hee-soo (Shin Se-kyung), who tries to seduce the King and get revenge, but gets seduced instead.

For Jo Jung-suk, this marks his return to tvN since the conclusion of “Hospital Playlist Season 2” in September 2021. Shin Se-kyung is also returning to tvN since the conclusion of “Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun” last October.

As “Sejak, The Enchanted” was confirmed as a tvN Saturday-Sunday drama, there is growing interest in whether “Queen of Tears” starring Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won will also be scheduled.

It was officially announced by tvN that “Queen of Tears” would be broadcast in 2023. However, the drama was ultimately excluded from the 2023 schedule. Despite being initially planned for broadcast in December 2023, it was not scheduled. Regarding this matter, tvN stated that the scheduling of “Queen of Tears” is currently undetermined. The drama has been pushed to 2024, with sources in the broadcasting industry suggesting it may be scheduled for early 2024.

Discussions are underway regarding whether “Queen of Tears” will follow “Sejak, The Enchanted” as its successor and if it will be scheduled for the first half of 2024. Last August, tvN stated that the scheduling of “Queen of Tears” was still undecided and has not provided further information regarding its scheduling while announcing the broadcast date for “Sejak, The Enchanted”.

With “Sejak, The Enchanted” confirmed for broadcast as a Saturday-Sunday drama in January 2024, there is keen anticipation from viewers about when they will have the opportunity to watch “Queen of Tears”, a drama initially planned for 2023 but subsequently postponed to 2024.
