A shocking story of sexual assault and threats from a drunken in-law was revealed by a woman on the August 7 episode of JTBC’s variety program “Divorce Camp”.
The wife, who appeared on the show frequently scolding her husband, initially expressed her frustration over credit card expenses — an issue linked to her husband’s excessive debt from past loans. “I didn’t know he was borrowing money to splurge during our dating days,” she said. “When I was in the early stages of pregnancy, I found out about the debt. On top of the 60 million won apartment loan, he had racked up an additional 30 million won in debt.” Her husband admitted, “I think I lived lazily, passing the burden onto my future self.”
The conversation then took a disturbing turn when the wife shared a traumatic experience involving one of her husband’s relatives. MC Seo Jang-hoon was visibly shocked and asked for clarification.
She explained that, overwhelmed by debt-related stress, she had messaged the in-law asking to talk. “He replied right away saying, ‘Let’s meet in person.’ I suggested a café, but he got into my car, saying we could talk there. As soon as I started driving, he suddenly touched me,” she recounted.
The situation escalated when the in-law allegedly pulled out a weapon and threatened her. “I called my husband to say I was scared, but the in-law cursed at me and said, ‘I’m going to make you my girlfriend,’” she added.
Her revelation left both the studio and viewers in shock, sparking outrage over the horrifying abuse and the psychological trauma she endured.
