Why Jessi Left PSY and Jay Park’s Agencies: Brand New Career Move

Jessi has announced her new career move, which explains the reason why she departed from PSY and Jay Park’s agencies.

On September 20, entertainment company DOD revealed, “We have signed a label and management contract with Jessi and established the independent label UNNI”, adding, “We will fully support Jessi, who possesses versatile talents, in expanding her activities not only in music but across various fields.”

Accordingly, Jessi has set up her own independent label, UNNI, in line with her musical preferences. By signing the contract with DOD, Jessi is expected to engage in more diverse activities.

Jessi first debuted in 2005 with Uptown’s single album but remained relatively unknown until she gained popularity in 2015 after appearing on Mnet’s *Unpretty Rapstar* Season 1. She then joined PSY’s label P Nation and later Jay Park’s MORE VISION, releasing several hits like *NUNU NANA*, *What Type of X*, and *ZOOM*. She also gained attention as part of the Refund Sisters on MBC’s *Hangout with Yoo*.

There were once rumors of discord between Jessi and both PSY and Jay Park when she left their agencies, but these were proven false.
