According to Munhwa Ilbo on September 9, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station forwarded Kim Se-ui, head of Garo Sero Research, to the prosecution on five charges, including violating the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation) and violating the Stalking Punishment Act.

The controversy began in July last year, when Kim Se-ui released a recording suggesting that Youtuber Tzuyang had previously worked at an entertainment bar. Despite Tzuyang’s denial, Kim Se-ui continued broadcasting programs challenging her explanation.
Tzuyang argued that Kim Se-ui’s actions forced her private life into the public eye without consent, leaving her no choice but to release a video statement. She later filed a criminal complaint against him.

Initially, in February, the case was dismissed due to insufficient evidence. However, Tzuyang’s legal team filed an appeal with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. After reviewing the case, the prosecution ordered supplementary investigation.
With Kim Se-ui now formally facing charges, the case has reignited debate over cyber defamation, privacy rights, and accountability in online broadcasting. For Tzuyang, who has millions of followers and is widely regarded as one of Korea’s top mukbang creators, the indictment marks a significant step in her fight to defend her reputation and personal life.
