On September 8th, the film “Harbin,” directed by Woo Min-ho, premiered globally at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival. Hyun Bin and Lee Dong-wook walked the red carpet with director Woo Min-ho, interacting warmly with fans.
During a red carpet interview, Hyun Bin was asked about support from his wife, Son Ye-jin. He replied with a smile, “Her understanding and support mean a lot to me, and I’m very grateful.” He added, “She supports me in every aspect.”
Hyun Bin’s response made the public admire the couple’s deep affection even more after two years of marriage.
Previously, Son Ye-jin had spoken about Hyun Bin during her appearance at the 2024 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN). At the event, an audience member asked her, “You’ve worked together on two projects, so I wonder when and at what point you both felt like you wanted to spend your lives together?” Son Ye Jin smiled and responded, “That’s an interesting question!“
“Actors meet a lot of co-stars while working on various projects. Many of them date or even get married, but personally, I did not like that aspect,” she continued. “It was fate when we realized that people kept saying we looked alike. I never thought I looked like him, but everyone around us kept saying we did. So, I looked at him more closely and started thinking, ‘Do we really share the same feelings?’ We worked together on two projects, but I truly fell in love with Hyun Bin’s real-life personality.“
“How do I put this?” Son Ye-jin hesitated before continuing, “Compared to people in the past, he is very kind and rational, almost like a scholar.“
“He’s not someone who hides his discomfort and presents himself in a positive light, but he’s genuinely very straightforward and simple. And he’s handsome too,” Son Ye-jin added, prompting laughter from those present. She then said, “Above all, Hyun Bin is very trustworthy. That’s the main reason.“
After getting married, the two artists have increasingly secured advertising deals, film roles, and event appearances. However, the beauty born in 1982 has proactively reduced her workload since tying the knot.
In an interview at the end of 2023, Son Ye Jin revealed that she has no plans to return to acting as she wants to spend time with her son. “Since I am married and have a child, my time for films will definitely be limited,” she said.
Since becoming a homemaker, Son Ye Jin frequently shares moments of her and her husband dating, personally cleaning their home, and cooking for the man she loves on her social media.
Son Ye Jin proudly notes that Hyun Bin is her first love and that married life has positively changed her.
