TWICE’s J-Line Mina, Sana, and Momo rumored to have a subunit debut by the end of 2022

A rumor has sparked that Mina, Sana, and Momo will form TWICE’s first subunit.

On September 5, JYP Entertainment was found to have registered the name “MISAMO” in English for international trademark under Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS). This is believed to be related to the future activities of TWICE’s Japanese members Mina, Sana, and Momo.

Although nothing has been confirmed, a rumor is spreading that Mina, Sana, and Momo will form TWICE’s first official subunit. Earlier this June, the three also had unannounced schedules in their home country.

Regarding JYP’s trademark registration, Park Soo Jo, a patent attorney at Yonsei University said, “As the patent application was filed in Korea, the possibility of the three’s debut in Korea seems high.” In addition, in response to expectations for TWICE’s unit activities in the second half of this year, JYP told MyDaily on May 18 that details of their schedule will be officially announced “soon”.

Mina is TWICE’s main dancer and sub vocalist, Sana is the sub vocalist, and Momo is the main dancer, sub vocalist and sub rapper. As all three of them are loved by many fans for their outstanding visuals and performance skills, fans’ expectations are high as to what kind of concept they will have if they do subunit activities.

Netizens left comments:

  • Such a perfect combination. I’m really looking forward to TWICE’s J-Line unit
  • I’m curious what kind of concept MISAMO will show.
  • I hope they will come out with a performance-oriented song.
