TWICE Wears Cleats Instead of High Heels for Their Performance at the Tottenham Match “Praised as ‘Thoughtful Idols'”
TWICE delivered a perfect performance during the Tottenham vs. Team K-League match, earning high praise
On July 31st, the “2024 Coupang Play Series” match between Team K-League and Tottenham Hotspur was held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
During halftime, TWICE took to the stage, elevating the atmosphere at the stadium. The members appeared in sporty outfits, with their uniforms stylishly modified.
What particularly caught the attention of soccer fans was the footwear TWICE chose to wear. All the members, along with their dancers, appeared in soccer cleats.
This decision was made to protect the grass on the field, as high heels were avoided.
The grass on a soccer field is sensitive and can easily be damaged by shoes with heels or spikes. This is especially true if intense dancing occurs, which could quickly ruin the field.
Such damage can immediately affect the players’ performance. Poor turf conditions can cause players to slip or alter the ball’s trajectory during passes.
There were concerns about having a performance on the field, but thanks to TWICE’s careful consideration, the players were able to continue the match without any issues after the performance.
The performance itself was flawless, and TWICE’s thoughtful attention to detail made it a truly “top-notch stage”. Fans showered TWICE with praise.

Among Team K-League, Yang Min-hyuk (Gangwon), who recently signed with Tottenham and is a prospective Premier League player, stood out with his quick dribbling and sharp shooting.
Tottenham will face Bayern Munich, a prestigious German Bundesliga club where Kim Min-jae plays, on August 3rd at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
