On October 16 (KST), TWICE made history as the second K-pop act after BLACKPINK’s Lisa to perform at the world’s biggest lingerie show. The announcement had initially excited fans, with many eager to see how the girl group would showcase their mature, confident image on such a global stage.
However, the performance received mixed to negative reviews from both international and Korean audiences. Only four members Jihyo, Nayeon, Momo, and Tzuyu took part in the show, each dressed in pastel pink outfits that reflected the youthful Y2K-inspired theme of this year’s runway. Their looks were praised for highlighting their toned figures and long legs, but the stage itself failed to leave an impression.

Performing two tracks, This Is For and Strategy, TWICE shared the stage with the Victoria’s Secret Angels for about five minutes. While their effort to sing live was acknowledged, many felt the songs lacked energy and freshness, with choreography that appeared too restrained. Several moments saw the group stepping aside to make room for the models, leading netizens to mock that TWICE “looked like background performers.”

Criticism particularly targeted Tzuyu, whose live vocals were described as shaky and uncertain. Some argued that despite her stunning visuals, her performance lacked confidence and stage presence. In comparison to Madison Beer’s fiery set, TWICE’s stage was seen as subdued and lacking impact.
On social media, reactions were similarly divided. Many expressed disappointment, arguing that TWICE had been given a rare international opportunity but failed to capitalize on it. Some even suggested that a unit performance by the Japanese trio MiSaMo (Momo, Mina, Sana) known for their stage experience might have delivered a stronger impression.

While TWICE’s visuals received praise, the overall consensus was that the group underperformed. Fans couldn’t help but draw comparisons to Lisa’s legendary 2024 Victoria’s Secret performance, where she performed four songs, commanded the runway, and even wore the iconic angel wings a moment that went viral globally and cemented her as an international powerhouse.
As one comment summed up, “TWICE looked beautiful, but Lisa owned the stage. That’s the difference between popularity and power.”
