While Hyun Woo Jin said he would sue the netizen who spread the rumors, tvN “Crash Course in Romance” also said it was “groundless.”
On Jan 16th, a tvN representative said, “We received help by interviewing various academy staffs and instructors before going into full-fledged production, including casting and filming,” adding, “Teacher Hyun Woo Jin also helped us through interviews despite his busy schedule.”
Regarding the rumors raised in previous articles, the representative dismissed them, saying, “the story (rumor) that is being spread by some people is groundless. Those are not related to the production team.”
Hyun Woo Jin posted a post on his Instagram on Jan 14th regarding the “Crash Course in Romance” rumors, saying, “Please give this series lots of support.”
“Crash Course in Romance” depicts the romance story of Choi Chi Yeol (Jung Kyung Ho), a famous math hagwon instructor called “The Man of KRW 1 Trillion,” which is why the production team reportedly asked Hyun Woo Jin, a famous math instructor, for advice before filming.
Previously, one Twitter user claimed, “Hyun Woo Jin did advise them. But the funny thing is that when the production team first asked him for advice, he refused. However, because Jung Kyung Ho played the role, he said he would do it,” spreading unconfirmed facts.
In response, Hyun Woo Jin uploaded the Twitter account that spread rumors on his Instagram and said, “I think this person is writing a novel-like a diary because they don’t have a real life,” adding, “I’ll proceed with a complaint because this is a false fact.”
“In the future, I will never provide my advice, inquiries, and share my experience in any case that is not related to my classes. I had a good time, but in the end, Internet trash broke my will. Of course, there will be no television appearances from me in the future,” he added.
