Leandro Trossard is set to leave Arsenal this summer, as the club reshapes its attacking lineup for the 2025/26 season. According to media outlet The Standard, the 30-year-old Belgian forward has agreed to join Fenerbahce, now managed by Jose Mourinho, in a transfer deal worth 17 million British pounds (approx 23 million USD).
Trossard, who has just one year left on his contract with the Gunners, had entered talks for an extension, but negotiations ultimately broke down. The player reportedly sought more guaranteed playing time, which was something manager Mikel Arteta could not promise amid mounting competition.
The imminent departure of Trossard comes just as Arsenal finalized a 52 million pounds (approx 70.1 million USD) signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea. The English winger is expected to sign a five-year contract at the Emirates, further crowding the forward line.
However, the Madueke transfer has sparked backlash among Arsenal fans, with critics questioning the club’s decision. Last season, Madueke managed just 7 goals and 3 assists in the Premier League, numbers that pale in comparison to both Trossard and Martinelli.
In addition to Madueke, Arsenal is pursuing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, who remains the club’s top target. However, negotiations have hit a snag as Arsenal is still 4.3 million pounds (approx 5.8 million USD) short of the Portuguese club’s 68.9 million pounds (approx 93 million USD) valuation.
