Trisha Paytas is becoming a controversial topic among K-pop fans after her unexpected Korean music debut triggered backlash involving BTS.

The American streamer and influencer recently released a Korean-language track titled S사랑해 Saranghae (I Love You) on May 18. The song quickly gained traction online thanks to its K-pop-inspired sound, polished visuals, and unusual crossover appeal.

Within a short period, the release generated massive discussion across social media platforms, especially after the song began climbing U.S. iTunes rankings.

Trisha Paytas first rose to fame as a YouTuber and online content creator in Los Angeles after launching her channel in 2007. Over the years, she built a large following through controversial content, outspoken opinions, and viral internet moments.

Her sudden shift toward K-pop surprised many international viewers, but the biggest controversy emerged after her track reportedly surpassed songs by several established K-pop artists on the U.S. iTunes “Top K-Pop” chart — including BTS at certain points.

The situation intensified when fans discovered that Trisha Paytas had allegedly “liked” an Instagram comment encouraging her to “beat BTS” on the charts.

The interaction immediately sparked criticism from ARMYs worldwide, with many accusing the influencer of mocking or disrespecting the globally successful Korean group.

Some internet users also resurfaced past controversies involving Trisha Paytas, including accusations related to racism and insensitive comments toward Asian communities.
