TREASURE’s 1st comeback after Bang Yedam and Mashiho’s departure: a reboot filled with sincerity

YG’s 4th generation boy group TREASURE is officially returning after the departure of Bang Yedam and Mashiho.

On the morning of July 28th, a press conference was held at YG Entertainment’s office in Hapjeong-dong, Seoul, to commemorate the release of TREASURE’s 2nd full album, “REBOOT”.

This album marks TREASURE’s 1st comeback after Bang Yedam and Mashiho’s departure, and is the group’s highly-anticipated return after almost 10 months since the release of “Hello”.

Regarding their new album, member Jihoon said, “We prepared for the album diligently as always, and this time, we did it while also preparing for a tour. As we received a lot of love and support, we felt excited and worked with a strong sense of responsibility to create a perfect and high-quality album.”

After changes in TREASURE’s member lineup, there were also differences in their approach to the work. A member, Choi Hyunsuk, said, “Since it’s a full album, we focused on creating more songs and preparing performances with all ten members. As a result, ten months passed by quickly.”

Jihoon then introduced the meaning behind the album’s title, “REBOOT”, explaining, “It literally means to restart. TREASURE previously pursued vibrant, lively, and energetic music, so now, after three years, we have grown and matured both internally and externally, and want to show these changes with ‘REBOOT’.”

Meanwhile, “REBOOT” contains ten tracks newly created with the members’ sincerity. The title track, “BONA BONA”, expresses the theme of fateful attraction through TREASURE’s lively style, presenting a confident and powerful “reboot” of the group with a strong brass sound in the chorus and drum beats reminiscent of a marching band.

On the other hand, TREASURE’s 2nd full-length album, “REBOOT”, will be released on various online music sites at 6 PM (KST) on July 28th.
