On the latest episode of KBS Joy’s “Ask Anything”, airing tonight at 8:30 PM KST, a transgender guest opened up about her lingering feelings for a former boyfriend and the emotional journey behind her gender transition.

The guest revealed that she first became aware of her sexual identity during middle school, after harboring a secret crush on a male classmate for three years. Later, as an adult, she began dating a bisexual man introduced through acquaintances. She fondly recalled, “He would even go out at 2 a.m. just to get me a macaron I mentioned wanting in my sleep.”

However, the relationship was fraught with challenges. The guest disclosed that her boyfriend frequently cheated without regard to gender. Despite this, she continued the relationship until they eventually broke up, reflecting, “I don’t think I could ever meet someone like him again.”

One of the reasons she decided to undergo gender-affirming surgery was to marry her ex-boyfriend. Last winter, she mustered the courage to reach out to him, only to be told, “My sexual preferences have completely changed.” Even after meeting others, she admitted she kept comparing them to her ex, causing her ongoing distress.

During the show, host Seo Jang-hoon asked, “Why do you still long for someone who cheated?” She responded, “Now that I’m transgender, many people approach me casually, and it’s hard to find someone serious.”

Seo pointedly advised, “He cheated everywhere, yet you keep holding onto good memories? He probably didn’t value you either.” Comedian Lee Soo-geun encouraged her, saying, “Boost your self-esteem and love yourself first.”

Looking ahead, the guest shared her excitement for fully completing her gender transition next year. “I dream of a grand wedding,” she said, “and I want to publicly express my ideal partner here.”

Seo Jang-hoon also reminded her, “If you obsess only over romance, your life will be difficult. Focus on living your life fully first.”

Other stories featured in the episode include a viewer seeking to repair a relationship with a female friend and a parent struggling to financially support their child’s dreams. Fans can catch these stories tonight on KBS Joy at 8:30 PM KST or through official online channels including YouTube, Facebook, and major Korean portal sites.
