This “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” actor once spent an entire day hanging out with a fan who has developmental disability

Recently, photos of “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” actor Oh Jung Se spending an entire day creating fun memories with a special fan at Korea’s famous theme park Lotte World in 2020 resurfaced and drew keen attention. Oh Jung Se’s heartfelt gestures toward his fan received many compliments from netizens. 

Specifically, the fan’s name is Bae Boum Joon. He became a fan of Oh Jung Se after watching his character in the hit drama “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay”, especially the scene where Moon Sang Tae bursts into tears during the fansign of author Go Moon Young (Seo Ye Ji). Bae Boum Joon‘s sister said that her brother got upset after watching the scene as he felt sympathy for Oh Jung Se’s character. 

Bae Boum Joon is diagnosed with a developmental disability, so his situation is similar to Oh Jung Se‘s character Moon Sang Tae, who struggles with an autism spectrum disorder in the drama. Therefore, Bae Boum Joon repeatedly expressed to his sister his wish to meet Oh Jung Se in person. After his sister reached out to Oh Jung Se, he happily agreed to meet up, putting aside his busy schedule to spend a day with his special fan.

During their hangout, Oh Jung Se even dressed and acted the same as his character Moon Sang Tae, from his speech mannerisms to the way he walked. The two had a great time together at Lotte World, took a lot of pictures and Oh Jung Se also gave his fan a cute toy dinosaur.

Afterward, Bae Boum Joon‘s mother sincerely thanked actor Oh Jung Se and shared many lovely pictures of the two on SNS, including the artwork drawn by her son for his idol.
