With no special skills, Park Joon-seok became the visual of first-generation idol group Taesaja with his handsome appearance.
When hip-hop baggy fashion was trending in 1997, the four-member boy group Taesaja appeared with a unique dandy look. 25 years have passed but the members are still fashionable as they were during their debut days.
Taesaja was unlucky as they were naturally disbanded in 2001 after the release of their 4th album as their agency faced financial difficulties. After Taesaja members decided to walk separate paths, member Park Joon-seok gained attention once again thanks to his Sky Music Phone advertisement in 2003.
The advertisement video shows Park Joon-seok dancing while wearing earphones. As soon as he handed one side of his earphone to the girl he likes, the line “Shall we listen together?” appeared. This remains a legendary advertisement as numerous parodies have been produced.
However, it is known that Park Joon-seok was really bad at dancing. The dance in that CF video was literally “the best dance in his life”. Appearing on “Sugar Man 3” in 2018, he reenacted that CF dance but was edited out completely.
On the show, Park Joon-seok himself confessed that he was “deaf” in 4 things, tone, beat, body, and direction, but was cast on the street thanks to his handsome appearance and made his debut right away as the group’s visual member. In addition, he honestly said that he was not as popular as members Kim Hyung-joon and Kim Young-min during their group activities.
Through “Sugar Man 3”, the members of Taesaja appeared as a whole group again after 18 years after being forced to disband. However, Park Joon-seok stole the spotlight and became a hot topic because of his handsomeness, which had not changed much since his heyday.
Park Joon-seok, who is still active with various broadcasting activities, will appear on the stage and greet fans again as a member of Taesaja at the 2022 Time Capsule Concert to be held in Yongin on July 16th.
