This actress fell in love with a doctor who was 1 hour late on their blind date

Here is the story of how actress Yum Jung Ah met her husband, whom she met on an unforgettable blind date.

Former “Miss Korea” runner-up Yum Jung Ah revealed that she had dreamed of becoming an actress since middle school. She said, “I couldn’t forget the emotions I felt when choosing the monologue of a young girl with a brain tumor among the three lines written on the blackboard and delivered it during the audition for the school’s drama club. That was when I thought I should pursue acting.”

Even after her debut, Yum Jung Ah remained an ordinary actress due to her impactful image as a “Miss Korea” contestant. However, after starring in the 2003 film “A Tale of Two Sisters”, the actress captivated the viewers with her chilly and amazing performance as a young stepmother. In the following year, she won Best Actress for her portrayal of a seductive character in “The Big Swindle”, which also marked the heyday of her acting career.

While enjoying her popularity as a top star, Yum Jung Ah married an orthopedist who is one year older than her in 2006.

In fact, Yum Jung Ah faced a humiliating situation in which she had to wait for an hour on a blind date despite being a top actress.

The man on that blind date was her husband, Heo Il. He was late for the blind date as he had to go into the operating room due to a sudden emergency patient arriving right ahead of the blind date.

At first, Yum Jung Ah got angry because the man made her wait an hour. However, seeing Heo Il’s flustered expression when arriving at the promised place, her anger suddenly disappeared. It is because Heo Il was rumored to be a handsome and humorous doctor among patients.

The two started dating after the blind date and ended up getting married a year later. However, she could hardly show up on the TV after marriage.

Yum Jung Ah shared, “When raising my children, I didn’t even look at the scripts they offered me for the sake of the kids. I only focused on childcare.”

After completing her childcare responsibilities, Yum Jung Ah made a successful comeback as the lead actress in the 2011 drama “Royal Family”. Later, she reached another peak in her career after starring in “Intimate Strangers” and “SKY Castle” in 2018.

Acting alongside actress Kim Hye Soo, Yeom Jung Ah plays the role of female diver Uhm Jin Sook in “Smugglers”.

Ahead of the movie release, Yum Jung Ah mentioned the filming atmosphere, saying “It was the best”. She continued, “Everyone didn’t want to go home even after the filming was completed. I wondered if there could be such an ideal filming set”, raising fans’ expectations for “Smugglers”.
