“The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract” Bae In-hyuk Explains Why He Always Hides His Hardships When Acting
Bae In-hyuk recently met with The Fact at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul for an interview after the drama “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract” ended.
“The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract”, which started at 5.6%, wrapped up successfully with a rating peak of 9.3% in the final episode. In this historical drama, Bae In-hyuk played Kang Tae-ha, a man who prioritizes logic over emotions and has a contract marriage with Park Yeon-woo (Lee Se-young), a Joseon Confucian girl who travels to 200 years later in the future.
Bae In-hyuk’s heart-fluttering chemistry with Lee Se-young, which was pointed out as one of the highlights of this drama, eventually led to dating rumors. In this regard, the actor said, “I didn’t even know about the rumors, and this was the first time I saw so many articles like that. I believe that the viewers really enjoyed the drama as well as our chemistry, so I consider it a pleasant issue”.
Bae In-hyuk emphasized that he learned a lot from his co-star and senior actress Lee Se-young, who has been acting since she was a child actress, through “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract”. The actor said, “I also wanted to act for a long time. I thought there must be a reason for seniors like her to continue this challenging path and watching Lee Se-young’s acting techniques as well as the way she communicated with people on the set really solved my curiosities”.
Earlier, Lee Se-young described Bae In-hyuk as “an actor who is always in good condition”. Regarding this compliment, Bae In-hyuk said, “There were tough times, but I didn’t show that I was tired”, adding that he thought of the people he worked with first. He continued, “I don’t want to let others know that I’m struggling. There were many times when I faced hardships and felt exhausted, however, if I showed it on the set, people around me would lose energy. If I try to raise their energy, I can also gain strength from them”.
Although Bae In-hyuk has not decided on his next projects, he expressed a great desire to take on more challenges.
