The script of “Now We’re Breaking Up” is criticized as being too childish and illogical

The most important twist for the first 4 episodes of “Now We’re Breaking Up” is said to be too illogical.

During the first 4 episodes of “Now We’re Breaking Up”, the Song Hye-kyoJang Ki-yong’s drama is still very much a controversial one. After the criticism about the female lead’s acting, the audience continues to target the show’s script, especially the nonsensical plot twist.

Song Hye Kyo Now We Are Breaking Up

Particularly, in the latest two episodes, the reason why Ha Young-eun (Song Hye-kyo) lost faith in love has been revealed. In detail, 10 years ago, she used to have a beautiful love with a man named Soo-wan. However, after being stood up by him on their date, Young-eun immediately assumed that he betrayed her and only did one night stand for 10 years after that. Young-eun didn’t know that Soo-wan got into a traffic accident on his way to go see her.

The detail is criticized as being too irrational. Young-eun’ character is built as someone who loves Soo-wan so much that she cannot forget about him after 10 years but didn’t even doubt or try to find out the reason why Soo-wan didn’t come to their date. If Young-eun thinks that she was betrayed and decided to ghost him just because he missed 1 date, then obviously she is not a very good lover, if not very childish.
