The response to “Mask Girl” is extraordinary “No.1 in 8 countries including Taiwan and Japan”

Netflix’s series “Mask Girl” ranked first in 8 countries around the world.

According to the global OTT platform viewing ranking site Flix Patrol on August 22nd, “Mask Girl” (written and directed by Kim Young Hoon) ranked 4th in “TOP 10 on Netflix in the World” as of August 21st.

“Mask Girl” started its global box office success by topping the charts in 8 countries, including Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.

It also topped the TV-OTT integrated topicality drama category in Korea. Good Data Corporation said on August 21st that “Mask Girl” rose to first place, pushing Disney+’s “Moving”, which ranked first last week, to second place.

In the VON category, which surveyed netizens’ posts and comments, “Mask Girl” took first place.

“Mask Girl” tells the story of Kim Mo Mi, an office worker who is insecure about her looks. She becomes a masked internet personality by night — until a chain of unexpected, ill-fated events overtakes her life.

The main character Kim Mo Mi was played by 3 actresses Go Hyun Jung, Nana and Lee Han Byeol. Other actors such as Yeom Hye Ran and Ahn Jae Hong received favorable reviews for their passionate performances.

All 7 episodes of “Mask Girl” were released on August 18th.
