“Anna”, an ambitious work that has been worked on for 5 years, will be unveiled soon.
Coupang Play’s new drama “Anna“, which is about to be released, is considered the most anticipated work in the first half of this year due to its solid storyline, cinematic visual beauty as well as the fact that it brings out actress Suzy‘s new face. In addition, “Anna” is attracting attention as it is a rare independent drama and also the first work that Content Map, the drama production company established by a management expert, has been working on for over 5 years.
Starring Suzy, Jung Eun-chae, Kim Jun-han and Park Ye-young, Coupang Play’s “Anna” tells the story of a woman who lives a completely different life starting with a small lie. It was helmed and penned by director Lee Joo-young, who was recognized for her directing and workmanship through the 2017 film “A Single Rider” starring Lee Byung-hun and Gong Hyo-jin.
“Anna”, which becomes a hot topic whenever its posters, still cuts and trailers are released, reveals the polar opposite of the female protagonist “Yumi” (played by Suzy), stimulating curiosity about how the story of a woman who lives a life full of lies will be portrayed. Above all, it is raising expectations by heralding actress Suzy’s new face, which has never been seen before.
Another reason to pay attention to “Anna” is that it is the first work presented by the new drama production company Content Map. Content Map’s CEO Lee Yoon-gul is an actor management expert who has been working with top actors such as Sol Kyung-gu, Won Bin, Kim Min-hee, Jun Ji-hyun and Gong Yoo for a long time.
Content Map promised to present high-quality contents to the public based on the know-how accumulated over the years of CEO Lee’s working with actors and his eye for selecting well-made works. In particular, it was foretold to produce fresh and original works with new attempts that could not be seen in existing dramas or OTT series.
“Anna”, which is its starting point, is a work that has been worked on for 5 years. It is rumored that CEO Lee devoted his time and effort to complete a work in which the three beats (director, writer and actor (management)) were properly aligned from the initial stage of production. In particular, at this time, CEO Lee Yoon-gul, an expert in management, showed his extraordinary insight and capabilities, completing the “Dream Team” with the optimal casting and the participation of the best staff in Korea.
As a company led by a management expert, Content Map has a perfect production system from the first shooting last fall to the last shooting in March, creating the best filming atmosphere so that everyone who completes the work, including producers, staff and actors, can sincerely focus on filming. Moreover, the COVID-19 quarantine team was in operation throughout the filming, so “Anna” was able to finish all filming, including overseas filming, without being affected during the COVID-19 period. As a result, “Anna” is a work that all actors and staff put their passion into more than any other drama filming site.
“Anna” will be released through Coupang Play every Friday at 8 PM, starting from June 24th.
