She added, “I heard that she had already decided to appear in ‘Broker’, so I wanted to let her know first and ask her if I could do well. I contacted her and asked after her because she’s a senior I like so much.”

IU played the role of the young mother So-young in “Broker”. The film revolves around characters associated with baby boxes, which allow infants to be dropped off anonymously to be cared for by others. IU won Best New Actress at the 27th Chunsa Film Art Awards held on Sep 30th thanks to this film.

This year’s Busan International Film Festival will screen a total of 354 films for 10 days until Oct 14th, including 243 invited films from 71 countries and 111 films screened by Community BIFF. The closing film is director Kei Ishikawa’s “A Man”.
