The Moment YG’s Yang Hyun-suk Reminded Us of 2NE1’s ‘Clap Your Hands'”

2NE1, who ushered in the era of ‘jaw-dropping’ millions of views, has resumed activities on their official YouTube channel alongside their comeback. Despite a hiatus of a staggering seven years, the number of subscribers who have stayed with the channel without ‘unsubscribing’ still reaches 5.8 million.

Recently, 2NE1 declared their ‘reopening’ by posting a live video of member CL on their official YouTube channel. The video captures CL’s surprise guest appearance at the concert of junior group TREASURE on the 15th, where she performed hit numbers like ‘The Baddest Female’ and ‘MTBD’ as a solo artist.

The heartwarming collaboration between ‘Living Legend’ CL and YG’s mainstay TREASURE was evident in the video, even through ‘this person’s’ expressions. That person is none other than YG Entertainment’s (YG) head producer, Yang Hyun-suk. Yang appeared at the end of the video, drawing attention by giving the biggest and longest applause.

Together with BIGBANG, 2NE1 ushered in the era of K-pop stars with hundreds of millions of views, holding numerous ‘million-view titles’ such as the music video for ‘I Am the Best,’ which has amassed 380 million cumulative views, ‘Come Back Home,’ and ‘LONELY.’

This year marks the 15th anniversary of 2NE1’s debut, and they will reunite with YG, the ‘cradle’ where they were born and raised, to hold a commemorative concert. The concert, titled ‘2NE1 Concert Welcome Back,’ will kick off in Seoul in October, followed by Kobe, Japan in November, and Tokyo in December. The Seoul concert, initially planned for two days, has been extended to three consecutive days due to overwhelming demand, with tens of thousands on the waiting list.
