On March 15th, an online press conference for “The Secret Romantic Guesthouse” took place. Shin Ye Eun, Ryeo Woon, Kang Hoon, Jeong Geon Joo, Oh Man Seok, Han Chae Ah, and director Kim Jeong Min attended.

“The Secret Romantic Guesthouse” is a refreshing mystery romance that follows Yoon Dan Oh (Shin Ye Eun), an innkeeper, and three secret boarding students.

When asked about the synchronization with her character, Shin Ye Eun replied, “I think Dan Oh is the most similar to me among the characters I’ve played so far.”

She continued, “I’m not sure if I want to be like her because she’s lovable, but her independent, adaptive nature and resilience makes me somewhere between resembling her and wanting to resemble her.”

After her chilling villainous performance in the Netflix series “The Glory,” Shin Ye Eun said, “I think this is the only place where I can receive love from everyone no matter what I do. I’m happy,” drawing laughter with her smile.

When asked about the differences between her previous dramas and this one, she replied, “Since it’s my first time challenging a historical drama, I initially approached it cautiously and carefully. My mindset has changed a bit compared to my previous works.”

She added, “Before, I had a lot of burdens, fears, and calculations, but now I feel more relaxed. Right now, I think more about how to create Dan On rather than myself.”

“The Secret Romantic Guesthouse” is Shin Ye Eun’s first historical drama. She confessed, “I hesitated a lot at first to take on a historical drama. I thought it would be appropriate to challenge it when I had some experience and expertise. However, the script is so interesting and I thought there was no reason not to do it and no need to be afraid with the guidance of a historical drama specialist director and many seniors.”

She continued to express her affection for the drama, saying, “I thought I would gain a lot when I did well. I tried to build a solid foundation for the basics of historical drama. For example, I recorded all my lines and listened to them. That’s because my historical drama tone can sound awkward. It’s a tone I’ve never tried before.”

Shin Ye Eun also shared her experiences on set, saying, “As the drama heads towards its final shoot, I looked at my voice recordings. Those were a great help. I also received a lot of help from my seniors on set.”

Shin Ye Eun added, “I want to recommend dramas to both men and women of all ages. I think it is a drama that can suit everyone’s taste.”

“The Secret Romantic Guesthouse” will premiere at 10 p.m. KST on March 20th.
