Lim Ji Yeon made an appearance on JTBC’s “Newsroom” and was moved to tears as she shared her story about her journey as an actress.
Lim Ji Yeon recently gained massive attention for her role as the main villain Park Yeon Jin in Netflix’s original series “The Glory.” Her performance received widespread praise from viewers and critics alike.
When asked about her passion for acting, Lim Ji Yeon revealed that she has always been determined to succeed despite the challenges and setbacks she faced along the way.
The inferiority complex caused by being scolded a lot made her more persistent and motivated to work harder and improve her craft.
Lim Ji Yeon said, “Even when I didn’t know what to do and felt like giving up, I didn’t want to give up acting. I didn’t want to regret not putting in enough effort. I couldn’t accept the idea that I didn’t work hard enough.”
Lim Ji Yeon also shared a touching story about her parents’ unwavering support for her career. She said, “Among all the things I said, my parents remember me saying that I never wanted to quit acting. They always say, ‘Ji Yeon never said she wanted to quit, even when she came home crying every day.'” As she thought about her parents, Lim Ji Yeon shed tears.
Lim Ji Yeon added, “Whenever I talk about the past, I always end up crying. It happened during my previous interviews as well.”
Lim Ji Yeon graduated from Korea National University of Arts and made her debut in 2014 with the film “Obsessed.” Her acting career changed with “The Glory.” This is a clear proof of how fiercely she has been trying to grow.
