The filmography of actress Oh Yoon-ah, who is known as a member of Son Ye-jin’s group of best friends
Oh Yoon-ah is scheduled to release a new drama called “Fly High Butterfly”.
The group of best friends composed of famous actresses Son Ye-jin, Lee Min-jung, Lee Jung-hyun, Gong Hyo-jin, Uhm Ji-won and Oh Yoon-ah is already so well-known in the entertainment industry. Appearing as guests at the wedding of Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin, they all shone dazzlingly. Oh Yoon-ah drew particular attention with her perfect body figure at the age of 43.
Oh Yoon-ah is known as a true “insider” (a sociable person) who has never missed any gathering and is close to lots of celebrities. What charms does she have that attract so many people?
Oh Yoon-ah learned modern dance until middle school but gave up her dream of dancing due to family circumstances. Later, she debuted in the entertainment industry as a racing model. Oh Yoon-ah even won 1st place in the “Cyber Race Queen Contest” in 2000. In 2003, she became a reporter for MBC’s “Section TV – Entertainment News”. She began her acting career in 2004 with her debut role in SBS’s drama “Into the Storm”.
Before pursuing acting in earnest, she was trained to become a singer. Oh Yoon-ah was really close to singer Ivy, whom she met at a dance academy in 2001, and they are still close friends of each other until now.
Oh Yoon-ah took on her first leading roles in KBS 2TV’s dramas “You’ll Find Out” and “Old Miss Diary”. She was only 25 years old when appear in “Old Miss Diary” but she portrayed the image of a city girl in her 30s perfectly.
Oh Yoon-ah met and worked with Son Ye-jin in SBS’s 2006 drama “Alone in Love”. Thanks to her great performance in this work, she won Best Supporting Actress at the SBS Drama Awards that year and expressed that she finally felt the joy of acting. In 2007, Oh Yoon-ah continued to draw attention by appearing as a pediatrician in SBS’s TV series “Surgeon Bong Dal-hee”.
6 months after getting married and giving birth to her son in 2007, Oh Yoon-ah returned to the small screen through KBS 2TV’s “The Kingdom of the Winds”. She received compliments for her effort to challenge not only modern dramas but also historical works. Thanks to her modern dance experience gained during her school days, the actress was able to perform various action scenes with her flexible body.
In MBC’s 2009 drama “What’s for Dinner?”, Oh Yoon-ah played a character with a unique and unpredictable personality. Appearing in KBS 2TV’s “God of Study”, which aired in the same year, she and received huge love from the viewers for her appearance as a determined and funny high school president Jang Ma-ri.
After “Childless Comfort”, Oh Yoon-ah transformed into the villain Eun Bi-ryung in SBS’s drama “Incarnation of Money” who died of poison in the end. In 2015, she joined “Angry Mom” and portrayed a heavy and dark character which required lots of deep inner emotion acting. Playing Kim Eun–hyang who lost her precious daughter and wanted to take revenge in SBS’s “Unnie is Alive”, Oh Yoon-ah helped the drama successfully surpass the rating of 20%. After then, she continued to appear in various other dramas, such as “The Undateables”, “A Pledge to God”, “Once Again”, etc. Especially, she won Best Supporting Actress at the KBS Drama Awards again after such a long time and made an impressive acceptance speech.
When I appeared on MBC’s “Real Men 300”, Oh Yoon-ah challenged the experience of the special forces and took great care of her team members like a mother and a sister. She also showed off her excellent pistol shooting skills. She decided to appear in this program because she wanted to tell this experience to her son who has developmental disabilities.
She recently joined KBS 2TV’s “Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant”. She is also actively communicating with fans by revealing her daily life stories, such as making food and traveling with her son, through SNS.
