The factors that contributed to the success of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”… Netizens agree with one thing altogether

“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” is currently a hot topic. There are various factors in the huge popularity of the drama.

First of all, that is its compact story composition. In each episode, attorney Woo Young-woo will take on a new case and she will solve it from a new perspective and with unique ideas, providing great satisfaction for the viewers.

The cute directing that creates an exciting mood is an indispensable factor. The brilliant directing ideas, such as expressing Woo Young-woo’s favorite whales using CG and describing the situation of attorney Choi Soo-yeon (Ha Yoon-kyung), who went to the restroom many times due to her stomachache, using the firework sound, added more fun to the broadcasts.

Above all, it is evaluated that actress Park Eun-bin, who portrayed the main character Woo Young-woo in a calm and cute way, has accounted for more than 70% of the drama’s popularity.  If it were not for Park Eun-bin, who could have pulled off Woo Young-woo this perfectly?

Many additional factors that contributed to the success of this work were also mentioned. Everything is from an analysis posted on the online community FMKorea on July 17th.

The article contains still cuts of a scene in SBS’s 2020 drama “The King: Eternal Monarch”. The post’s author said, “First, I love the fact that this drama (Extraordinary Attorney Woo) doesn’t have PPL (Product Placemen)”. Many viewers agreed with this point.

In “The King: Eternal Monarch”, the male lead Lee Gon (Lee Min-ho), the king of the Kingdom of Korea, suddenly drinks a bottle of coffee while making a phone call and praises the coffee product by coffee company G.

The line in this scene, which is “It tastes the same as royal coffee. The first taste is abundant and the aftertaste is clean. Korea is selling this in the market?”, was pointed out to look like a CF cut.

The coffee product then appeared several times in each episode and caught the attention of the viewers as “the king’s favorite coffee”.

In addition to the coffee, “The King: Eternal Monarch” interrupted the drama’s story by explaining the tastes or functions of various other products, such as chicken, bread, and cosmetics, in detail. It’s completely different from “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”.

From the production company’s point of view, the advantage of PPL is to help recover production costs, but excessive PPL that hinders the immersion of the play eventually turns viewers around.
