From their debut song ‘ELEVEN’, IVE has established themselves as the ‘4th gen representative idol’
At IVE’s concert in Seoul of their first world tour, it can be seen that the audience age range was diverse, but the main focus of attention was elementary school students, especially girls among them. It was cute and unique to see IVE speaking kindly and politely, like kindergarten teachers, using respectful language towards their young fans.
On October 8th, IVE’s second Seoul concert of their first world tour ‘SHOW WHAT i HAVE’ was held at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul. IVE started the show with their first full album’s title track ‘I AM.’
The song ‘ROYAL,’ which used screen effects to transform from fiery red to ice-cold blue, was presented as the second song in a rock version tailored for the concert. After the impressive ‘Blue Blood’ with its dark and powerful beat, IVE greeted the audience.
Jang Wonyoung said, “Having our own concert, which was our dream, and going on a world tour feels amazing.” Leeseo added, “We named it ‘SHOW WHAT i HAVE’ with the meaning of showing everything we have, just like our name ‘IVE.'” Rei said, “We have so much to show.”
Before the main performance, a question arose at the press conference about what IVE thinks is their unique strength in their performances. Jang Wonyoung responded, “I think the unique strength of our concert is diversity. We will show many performances of songs that have never been released anywhere else. I think our diverse charms are our strength.“
Not only the mega-hits that made IVE what they are today, such as ‘ELEVEN,’ ‘Love Dive,’ ‘Kitsch,’ and ‘After LIKE,’ but also many tracks from their first full album ‘I’ve IVE,’ released in April this year, were included in the setlist. All the songs from ‘I’ve IVE’ were performed live on stage.
The theme of self and individuality was a clear theme running through the title tracks released by IVE. Their first full album, released after just 1 year and 4 months since their debut, showcased how diverse IVE can be with a variety of genres and moods in their songs.
IVE’s first solo world tour ‘SHOW WHAT i HAVE’ showed the energy that comes from the six members being together on stage. Among them, Ahn Yujin stood out the most. As the leader, she was an all-rounder who excelled in vocals, dance, and expressions, and she did everything flawlessly. The main vocalist, Liz, had a powerful and comfortable live performance. Her singing and high notes were solid and soothing.
Jang Wonyoung’s visuals and stage presence made her shine brightly. Gaeul not only presented smooth stages but also took on the role of comforting the members’ emotions, making her stand out as well. Rei, with her unique personality and tone, naturally drew attention. Leeseo made fans look forward to her future performances.
During the fan song ‘Shine With Me,’ there was a moment when Liz shed tears. Rei, who had taken a break from activities due to health issues, read a handwritten letter she had prepared with sincerity, and not only she but also other members had teary eyes.
IVE chose the song ‘Next Page’ from their first full album as the final song. Jang Wonyoung said, “Just being able to perform like this feels like a dream, and I’m so grateful. I wish this moment could last forever.”
IVE will continue their world tour in 19 countries and 27 cities in Asia, the Americas, Europe, and South America. They will make their comeback with their first mini-album ‘I’VE MINE’ on October 13th.
