Teaser of Jang Won Young’s sister Jang Da Ah’s Villain Acting in Debut Drama Attracts Explosive Reactions

Last April, Jang Da Ah, the older sister of IVE’s Jang Won Young, signed an exclusive contract with King Kong by Starship, attracting attention with news of her entertainment activities.

Even before her debut, Jang Da Ah gained considerable interest from netizens for her innocent visuals and resemblance to Jang Won Young.

Jang Da Ah will debut as an actress through the drama ‘Pyramid Game‘ which is set to be released on February 29.

In the drama, Jang Da Ah will play Baek Ha Rin, a student in class 5 of grade 2. Baek Ha Rin is always loved for her kind and dignified attitude but harbors hidden malice behind her facade.

Jang Da Ah is expected to inject tension into the drama with Ha Rin’s double-faced charm.

With much attention on her as Jang Won Young’s older sister, expectations are high for Jang Da Ah performance in her debut drama. Meanwhile, the teaser trailer for ‘Pyramid Game’ was released on February 6th.

The teaser includes scenes of newcomer Kim Ji Yeon (played by Seong Su Ji) stepping into a cruel world as a transfer student, and students legally bullying others by voting for them.

Jang Da Ah (playing Baek Ha Rin) hints at her high status, evoking tension. Jang Da Ah’s ambiguous comfort towards Kim Ji Yeon sparks curiosity.

Netizens are showing enthusiastic responses: “I’m looking forward to her as a lead in her first drama,” “They really look alike as sisters,” “Baek Ha Rin is an important role, I’m curious about her acting skills,” “Her tone sounds fine, I hope she acts well,” “She looked awkward in photos, but I can see her acting skills in the video,” “The Jang sisters look alike but have different charms,” “She’s a rising star.”

Indeed, whether Jang Da Ah can captivate viewers with her own charm as an actress, rather than just being ‘Jang Won Young’s sister,’ after the release of the drama, is drawing keen attention.

‘Pyramid Game’ depicts a cruel survival hierarchy war in class 5 of grade 2 at Baekyeon High School, where students are divided into perpetrators, victims, and bystanders who vote for victims once a month, gradually falling into violence.

It is based on the webtoon of the same name and will be released on TVING on February 29th.
