On November 18, SBS hosted a production press conference for Taxi Driver 3 at SBS Hall in Mok-dong, Seoul, ahead of its November 21 premiere. Director Kang Bo-seung, along with the main cast Lee Je-hoon, Kim Eui-sung, Pyo Ye-jin, Jang Hyuk-jin, and Bae Yoo-ram who make up the Rainbow Taxi team delivering justice for those the law fails, shared details and insights about the upcoming season.

Based on the popular webtoon, Taxi Driver 3 follows Kim Do-gi (Lee Je-hoon) and Rainbow Taxi, executing private revenge missions on behalf of wronged victims. With the previous season ranking 21% in viewership 5th among all domestic dramas since 2023 this K-style seasonal drama has set the benchmark for mega-IP success.

When asked about the series’ long-lasting appeal, Lee Je-hoon said: “The support and love from viewers is what has kept this world strong. While there are painful and sad episodes, we made sure each story could touch the audience. By staying consistent, we’ve maintained the integrity of this universe. I hope by the end of Season 3, viewers will already be curious about what comes next.”

Bae Yoo-ram, who plays engineer Park, added: “High ratings definitely help, but we’ve worked together for 5–6 years. Over time, we naturally became closer without forcing it, which made Season 3 even more comfortable.”

Jang Hyuk-jin, as Chief Choi, commented: “I think our ratings reflect the genuine chemistry we have on set.”

Kim Eui-sung, CEO Jang Seong-chul, joked: “We all feel sometimes that the law fails us. Seeing someone like Kim Do-gi take revenge on behalf of victims is exciting. The viewers’ support keeps us telling this story.”

Director Kang Bo-seung, making his directorial debut after previously serving as assistant director in Season 1, said: “Filming was fun because the cast is so familiar. I wanted Season 3 to feel like a complete story, with hints from previous events, and not just about victims being saved. I hope it’s a warm, connected story, and that viewers focus on how villains emerge as well.”

Lee Je-hoon revealed that Kim Do-gi’s car has upgraded from an older ‘Dynasty’ model to a real ‘hero car’. “When transporting passengers, I drive safely. When punishing villains, I step on the accelerator. This season’s car is my signature ‘Doggy Car,’ named by the staff.”

He also discussed character development: “Episodes 1–2 show ‘Hero Do-gi’ in full force during international crime missions. Episodes 3–4 reveal a cute, lovable side, which I’m really attached to. Viewers will look forward to weekly Friday-Saturday episodes.”

Addressing the pressure of continuing a mega-IP, Lee said: “Following strong previous seasons is tense, but Season 3 is deeper and delivers satisfying thrills. I hope viewers feel rewarded for their support with both intensity and fun.”

Kim Eui-sung teased his character’s potential secrets: “Some viewers still wonder if my character is the mastermind. Certain stills hint at unexpected events watch closely.”

Pyo Ye-jin shared her character growth: “Go-eun has matured over the seasons. I wanted to portray her as more professional and dependable, which is why I chose a blunt bob for Season 3.”

The chemistry between Jang Hyuk-jin and Bae Yoo-ram was also highlighted: “Hierarchy is clearer this season, and each role is defined,” said Jang. Bae added: “Serving well is key, and I’ve learned a lot from Chief Choi.”

Finally, the season promises a balance of villain build-up and satisfying payoffs: “The villains’ arcs build tension for a big release, but we also focus on the victims’ healing,” said Bae.

With Lee Je-hoon solidifying his dark hero Kim Do-gi persona, Taxi Driver 3 promises thrilling action, emotional depth, and rich character arcs for fans old and new.
