Taeyang Announces First Full Solo Album In 9 Years

Taeyang is officially making his long-awaited solo comeback with a brand-new album titled QUINTESSENCE, marking his first full-length solo release in nearly nine years.

The announcement quickly became a major topic among K-pop fans after the singer unveiled the first teaser images for the upcoming project on social media. In the newly released visuals, Taeyang showcased a stylish modern concept featuring bold hair styling, fashionable outfits and a more mature artistic image that immediately drew attention online.

According to the singer, the title QUINTESSENCE represents the “pure essence” or “true nature” of something. Taeyang reportedly chose the name after years of reflection, explaining that the word had remained deeply rooted in his heart for a long time and felt especially meaningful at this point in his life.

The artist shared that the album explores the journey of discovering the “essence” hidden inside every person. Through the music, he hopes listeners can also reflect on their own identity and recognize the truly important values in life — things that are often difficult to see with the naked eye.

The album artwork has also attracted attention for its artistic symbolism. The stylized letter “Q” on the cover is reportedly designed using the imagery of two angels, adding another layer of depth to the overall concept.

QUINTESSENCE becomes Taeyang’s first full solo album since WHITE NIGHT in 2017. Over the years, fans have continuously waited for the singer’s return as a solo artist, making the new release feel especially emotional for longtime supporters.

Reports circulating online also claim the album may feature collaborations with The Kid LAROI, as well as artists Woochan and Tarzan, though full details about the tracklist have not yet been officially confirmed.
