The lunar tourism project “Dear Moon”, which former BIGBANG member T.O.P is supposed to participate in, has been postponed

On November 10, T.O.P posted a notice on his social media account with the caption “Notice on the Dear Moon project”. According to this notice, the 2023 lunar tourism project “Dear Moon” has been postponed due to spaceship development.

The “Dear Moon” project was supposed to take Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa, along with several artists, for a trip to the moon, using a rocket from the U.S. space exploration company SpaceX, which is founded by Elon Musk.

The project’s organizers stated, “The selected crew members for this mission will board the spaceship, fly around the moon, travel within 200 km of the lunar surface, and return safely to Earth.”

However, the project, which is supposed to launch at the end of 2023, will not take place due to ongoing spaceship development. An update to the Dear Moon project timeline will be announced in the future.

Meanwhile, after terminating his exclusive contract with YG, T.O.P shared that he’s going to be a crew member in the Dear Moon project. He also expressed that he feels great pride and responsibility in representing his country, as the first person from South Korea to go to the moon.
