About a month after these rumors surfaced, Jiyeon shared an update on her life via SNS, drawing significant attention.
On July 29th, Jiyeon posted a message of gratitude to her fans on Instagram, celebrating T-ara’s 15th anniversary.
She wrote “Happy 15th anniversary. Thank you all so much for your constant support and love. I truly appreciate everything you do for us. I love you, Queens” along with a photo of herself with fellow T-ara members.
In the photo, Jiyeon is seen making a V sign with her fingers alongside T-ara members Ham Eun-jung, Qri and Hyomin, capturing a warm and celebratory moment. The heartfelt photo marking the group’s 15th debut anniversary has deeply touched many fans both domestically and internationally.
This post is particularly notable as it is Jiyeon’s first update since the divorce rumors involving her and Hwang Jae-gyun emerged in June.
The rumors began circulating after a controversial remark by a KNN baseball commentator during a broadcast. The commentator, Lee Kwang-kil, questioned if Hwang Jae-kyun had divorced, which led to widespread speculation online.
Jiyeon’s side quickly denied the rumors, stating they were baseless.
The commentator later apologized, admitting that he had spoken without proper verification and expressing regret for the harm caused to both Jiyeon and her husband.
Jiyeon married Hwang Jae-gyun in December 2022 and had previously shared affectionate updates about her married life through SNS and YouTube. However, around the time the divorce rumors surfaced, Jiyeon temporarily paused her YouTube channel, explaining in a community post that due to personal reasons, she would not be uploading new videos for a while but promised to return with a bright appearance.
