T-ara’s Areum Updates Shocking News, “My Boyfriend Attempted Extreme Choice Due To Malicious Comments”
Ex-T-ara Areum talked about malicious comments and rumors surrounding her boyfriend whom she’s about to remarry
Early in the morning of December 14th, Areum shocked everyone when she made an SNS post, saying “My boyfriend was shocked after receiving too many contacts and reading malicious comments so he impulsively attempted an extreme choice”, adding that she discovered her boyfriend lying down after taking too many depression medicines.
Areum angrily said, “I want to ask people who caused it. I want to ask if you guys feel better now”, adding “I’m already used to such things, it’s not something familiar to him, who has been living well and diligently. I’m writing this in tears and my body is trembling”.
She confessed, “It’s so painful to think about how tiring these past few days must have been for him. No matter how much I think about it, I believe that it was caused by malicious comments, as well as speculations and personal attacks from haters”, adding “He went through this for the first time and O couldn’t stop crying thinking about the pain and fear he must have endured. I also felt like I couldn’t protect him”.
Areum then asked haters to refrain from making malicious comments and prayed, “Whether he wakes up or not, I will make sure to punish you guys, haters and malicious commenters, strongly”.
Lastly, she said, “I saw a comment threatening him to make an extreme choice if feeling unfair. He’s a person who always cares and prioritizes others. Don’t play with people’s lives. And don’t mess with us. Isn’t creating excessive rumors enough? Stop making malicious comments. Whether he’s Jeon Cheong-jo or whoever, just go away quietly and leave us alone”.
Earlier, Areum announced the news of her divorce and remarriage at the same time through SNS. Shortly after that, a post titled “Second Jeon Cheong-jo is about to remarry a singer from a girl group” spread widely in online communities, sparking controversy. The netizen who wrote the post anonymously claimed that the person they mentioned had a criminal record of fraud and sexual crimes like Jeon Cheong-jo and others began to speculate that he might be Areum’s boyfriend.
Meanwhile, Areum joined T-ara as a new member in 2012 and withdrew from the group in 2013. After marrying a businessman 2 years older than her in 2019, she gave birth to a son the following year. Last year, she also welcomed her second son. The female singer appeared on JTBC’s “Sing Again 3” but was unfortunately eliminated.
