Sunmi is directly addressing a persistent Sunmi Park Jin-young rumor that has followed her for years. The artist recently appeared on a preview for the YouTube show Salon Drip 2 where she finally clarified the misunderstanding about her relationship with the JYP Entertainment founder.
The rumor stemmed from Park Jin-young’s past comments on a TV show, where he discussed a time when he and Sunmi had a disagreement over her dating life. He stated that he had advised her against a particular relationship, but she ignored his advice, which led to a period of time where they didn’t see each other. This led many to believe they had a major falling out.
However, Sunmi set the record straight during her appearance. “I really want to clarify that it was only that one time,” she emphasized. When Jang Do-yeon said, “Oh, so it was just that one person,” Sunmi reiterated, “It was literally my very first relationship, and that was it. Just once.”
