On the October 29 episode of the YouTube variety show “Jae friends”, Sunday appeared alongside fellow The Grace members Stephanie and Lina. During a candid segment, host Kim Jaejoong asked, “Who mentioned gluteal amnesia earlier?” to which Sunday responded, “That’s me. It’s a real condition.”

Gluteal amnesia, sometimes referred to as “dead butt syndrome,” occurs when the glute muscles weaken and fail to function properly often caused by prolonged sitting or lack of exercise. The body essentially “forgets” how to activate the glutes, making everyday movements more difficult.

Sunday explained, “It’s like a syndrome. The muscles just don’t work. I used to walk around swaying all the time because of it. I struggled a lot.” She added with a laugh, “Every time people see me, they ask, ‘Did you find your butt memory? Has it come back?’”

Kim Jaejoong expressed surprise at the rare condition, saying, “That’s fascinating. I’ve never heard of it before.”

The light-hearted yet honest exchange sparked curiosity among fans, many of whom had no idea Sunday had been quietly battling such a unique health issue. Despite the challenges, her candidness and humor resonated with viewers, further endearing her to longtime fans of The Grace and newer audiences alike.

Sunday’s revelation sheds light on lesser-known health conditions and the realities idols may face long after their peak promotional years and proves that a sense of humor and openness can go a long way in raising awareness.
