BTS’s fandom ARMY releases a statement, “Suga should express his position on reports about him being assigned as a social service agent”

Fans raised questions about BTS Suga being said to enlist as a social service agent.

After the news of Suga being assigned as a social service agent was reported earlier on December 13th, BTS’s fandom ARMY also issued a statement and raised questions.

Fans stated, “As Suga has continuously made statements on military issues through the lyrics of his songs, it’s now the time he expresses his position himself”.

The reason Suga was assigned as a social service agent has not been officially revealed, but many people speculate that it is due to his shoulder surgery.

Suga had a car accident in 2012 and was found to have a dislocation of his left shoulder the following year. Suffering continuous shoulder pain, Suga was diagnosed with a posterior labral tear of his left shoulder, which means the cartilage around his left shoulder joint was torn, in 2019.

Judging that it could cause difficulties to his activities as a singer, Suga decided to undergo surgery to suture the ruptured joints and tears in his left shoulder area in November 2020.

However, fans claimed that Suga’s injury had already been 10 years ago and that the result of his physical examination was Level 1. At that time, Suga delivered messages, such as “In fact, I can be an active-duty soldier at Level 1”, “Why am I being unnecessarily healthy?”, etc., through the lyrics of his own songs.

After undergoing shoulder surgery, Suga received the result of Level 4 in the physical reexamination. Pointing out that Suga wrote the lyrics, saying “I’ll go to the military on my own when the time comes”, even after receiving the Level 4 result, fans believe it is necessary that the male idol expresses his position now.

Internet users gave divided reactions to this. Some said, “In BTS, Suga is known as a golf lover. I don’t understand”, “How did he dance with that shoulders?”, etc., raising questions. On the other hand, others said, “You guys are cursing a person who is going to work as a social service agent after undergoing shoulder surgery?”, “Doing social service is also a kind of military service”, etc.

Meanwhile, BTS’s oldest member Jin enlisted in the military today (December 13th).
