At the 74th Emmy Awards held in September last year, Netflix’s series “Squid Game” swept 6 categories, attracting attention. “Squid Game” was the first K-content to receive the honor of winning the Emmy Awards. “Squid Game” won major categories such as “Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series” and “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series”, showing that K-contents’ status reached the global ranks both in name and reality. Attention is focused on whether “Beef”, in which a large number of actors and producers of Korean descent took part, will be able to continue the craze of “Squid Game” last year at this year’s Emmy Awards.

Meanwhile, the work with the most nominations was HBO Max’s “Succession”. This drama was nominated in 27 categories, including “Outstanding Drama Series”. HBO Max’s works “The Last of Us” and “The White Lotus” were also nominated in 23 categories, raising HBO Max’s pride. In the comedy series category, Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso” was nominated in 21 categories and expected to win many awards.

The 75th Emmy Awards will be held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles (LA) on September 19th. It will be broadcast live on Fox Channel.
