Starship Apologizes To CRAVITY Fan Assaulted By Bodyguard, “Already Terminated Contract With Security Company”

Boy group CRAVITY’s agency Starship Entertainment expressed their stance on the controversy over excessive security

On July 22nd, CRAVITY’s agency Starship Entertainment issued an official statement, saying “We deeply apologize to fans and people who were affected by the inappropriate behavior of the bodyguards while performing security duties for CRAVITY at the airport when the group returned to Korea on June 23rd after their performance and promotion in Japan.”

According to a report by JTBC in June, a teenage fan visited the airport to see CRAVITY but was assaulted by a bodyguard. As a result, the fan was diagnosed with a concussion.

In response to the controversy, Starship stated, “As soon as we were aware of the issue, we terminated our partnership with the security company in charge of CRAVITY’s on-site security that day”.

They continued, “We will provide security protocols and training procedures to prevent recurrence and ensure safety for fans and our artists in the future. We apologize to all the fans”.

Meanwhile, the nine-member boy group CRAVITY debuted in 2020 and has released their first full album “The Awakening: Written In The Stars”, mini albums “MASTER : PIECE’ and ‘SUN SEEKER”. The group’s latest activity is their 7th mini album “EVERSHINE”, which was released in February.
