“Squid Game: The Challenge” producers explained “dangerous falls” in the show

The producers of “Squid Game: The Challenge” have addressed the audience’s concerns regarding players’ dramatic falls in Glass Bridge

At the end of November, “Squid Game: The Challenge,” a reality show borrowing the format of Netflix’s “Squid Game”, officially premiered. Many challenges in “Squid Game: The Challenge” captured the audience’s attention, sparking lively discussions online. Among them, the Glass Bridge game with realistic visuals raised viewers’ curiosity. On social media forums, viewers eagerly asked whether contestants jumping into the wrong glass panel actually fell from a height of over 6m, as depicted in the script.

According to a November 29 article on Entertainment Weekly (EW), however, 2 executive producers of “Squid Game: The Challenge” emphasized that the scenes of falling from the glass bridge were performed by stuntmen.

“The fall itself was done by a professional stunt person for the safety of the players. Obviously, that’s paramount for us. There was a large airbag underneath, but that also needs to be done by professionals”, executive producer John Hay said.

Meanwhile, executive producer Stephen Lambert issues that the stunt people fell a safe distance from the bridge, and the filming angle made the distance look further.

Earlier, “Squid Game: The Challenge” faced accusations of mistreating players, causing a stir among netizens. According to sources, the law firm Express Solicitors, representing two anonymous players, stated that their clients faced health issues during the show’s filming. The lawyer asserted that these two contestants experienced hypothermia and nerve damage due to participating in a challenge in -3°C conditions.
