According to reports from the real estate industry and the Supreme Court registry on December 17, Song Kang purchased a 227㎡ (approximately 69-pyeong) unit at Seoul Forest Hillstate in Seongsu-dong 2-ga, Seongdong District, for 6.7 billion KRW at the end of June. Ownership registration was completed last month, marking the highest transaction price since the complex was first developed.
Registry records show a maximum secured loan amount of approximately 4.6 billion KRW. Given that mortgage collateral is typically set at 110–120% of the loan value, Song Kang is estimated to have borrowed up to 4.2 billion KRW, or roughly 60% of the property’s purchase price.

Although new government regulations introduced on June 27 capped mortgage loans for metropolitan housing purchases at 600 million KRW, Song Kang reportedly signed the purchase agreement on the same day the policy was announced, allowing him to avoid the new restrictions.
Seoul Forest Hillstate is a well-known luxury apartment complex that helped transform Seongsu-dong from an industrial area filled with small factories into one of Seoul’s most desirable upscale residential neighborhoods. Alongside Trimage, Acro Seoul Forest, and Galleria Foret, the complex has played a key role in redefining the district’s image as a high-end residential hub.
The apartment complex is also historically significant as the first project where Hyundai Engineering & Construction introduced its “Hillstate” brand in 2006. Designed as a premium flagship development, it features advanced floor plans, landscaped gardens, and high-rise units offering panoramic views of the Han River.
Numerous celebrities are known to reside in the area, including actors Namgoong Min and Lee Sang-yoon, singer-actor Eric, Yook Sung-jae, and former Major League Baseball pitcher Park Chan-ho, further cementing the neighborhood’s reputation as a celebrity enclave.

Song Kang made his acting debut in 2017 through the tvN drama The Liar and His Lover and quickly earned attention for his striking visuals, often being compared to Yook Sung-jae during his early career. He later solidified his status as a leading actor through hit projects such as Sweet Home and My Demon, building a diverse and steadily growing filmography.
Now in his eighth year since debut, Song Kang completed his mandatory military service as an active-duty soldier, enlisting in April last year and being discharged as a sergeant in October. Despite the hiatus, his popularity remains strong, as evidenced by his first post-discharge fan meeting selling out all sessions.
