Song Kang-ho Talks About Meeting Chow Yun-fat, “I Was Overwhelmed By His Superstar Aura”

Actor Song Kang-ho felt emotional when he met Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat at BIFF

On October 7th, Song Kang-ho attended the open talk for the movie “Cobweb” (director Kim Jee-woon) held at the outdoor stage of Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae, Busan.

Earlier, Song Kang-ho met actor Chow Yun-fat, the great brother of Hong Kong’s film industry, at the opening ceremony of Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) when Chow Yun-fat received The Asian Filmmaker of the Year award.

Song Kang-ho shared, “It was my great honor and pleasure to welcome him here”, adding “I was very happy to meet such a great actor in person and I was overwhelmed by his superstar aura”.

Regarding “Cobweb” director, he jokingly said, “Let’s say we’ve been active for 25 years, I think we worked together every 5 years. I don’t want to do anything with him for the next five years”. Song Kang-ho then confessed, “Going on this movie trip with the artist named Kim Jee-woon always makes me feel so excited. I was curious about what kind of trip it would be, but on the other hand, I also felt scared.”

He added, “While acting in the movie as director Kim Yeol, I sympathized with director Kim Jee-won even more.”

“Cobweb” depicts the sad but funny things that happen when director Kim, who is obsessed with the fact that the ending of his movie, which was filmed in the 1970s, would be better if remade, re-films the movie under conditions.

The movie premiered on September 27th but couldn’t make it become a box office hit.
