After a three-year hiatus, Song Joong-ki is set to return to the small screen with JTBC’s upcoming drama My Youth, a heartfelt romance about first love and second chances.

On August 12, JTBC released character stills of Song Joong-ki as Seon Woo-hae, a man who once soared to fame as a child actor but chose a quiet life as a novelist and florist after the pressures of reality caught up to him. In the images, Song Joong-ki is seen strolling through a market with an armful of flowers and tenderly trimming potted plants, exuding warmth and gentle charm.

Seon Woo-hae’s peaceful routine is disrupted when he reunites with his first love, Seong Je-yeon (played by Chun Woo-hee), setting off a journey of rediscovery. The series follows their emotional reconnection, as Je-yeon must shatter Woo-hae’s tranquility for the sake of her own ambitions.

My Youth marks Song Joong-ki’s highly anticipated drama comeback after the hit series Reborn Rich in 2022. Speaking about his role, Song Joong-ki shared, “The script gave me a warm feeling right away. Unlike my previous roles with strong fantasy elements, this character is grounded in reality, which resonated with me deeply.”

The drama boasts an impressive creative team, with director Lee Sang-yeob (Yumi’s Cells, Discovery of Love, Familiar Wife) teaming up with screenwriter Park Si-hyun (Run On).

My Youth premieres on JTBC on September 5, 2025, at 8:50 PM KST.
