Actor Song Joong Ki acknowledged his high ransom.
Recently, Song Joong Ki had an English interview with the Chinese media outlet Sina Entertainment to talk about his work.
“Hopeless” starring Song Joong Ki is a noir drama film about a boy named Yeon Gyu (Hong Xa Bin), who wants to escape from the hellish reality, meeting an organization’s middle boss Chi Gun (Song Joong Ki) and experiencing the dangerous world together. Song Joong Ki made headlines by appearing in “Hopeless” with no guarantee.
Regarding this, Song Joong Ki said, “In this project, the appearance fee was nothing for me. I didn’t care about money. Actually, I’m so shy about mentioning this. No money in this project, that’s not important for me. I just wanted to make this movie perfectly.“
He explained why he decided to appear in “Hopeless”, “When I read the script, I thought it was okay. This script had a really good energy. Our movie is about family violence and weak people in society. So this script is worth making. I wanted to participate in this movie.”
Song Joong Ki honestly confessed, “If I get my fee, it costs a lot of budget. My appearance fee is really high. This is not good for this movie.”
Earlier this year, Song Joong Ki’s appearance fee per episode was revealed on tvN’s “Free Doctor”.
Regarding Song Joong Ki’s ransom, the cast said, “When Song Joong Ki acted in the 2021 drama ‘Vincenzo’, he received 200 million won per episode. For ‘Reborn Rich’, he got paid 300 million won +α per episode and his appearance fee will continue to rise in the next works. The amount of profits Song Joong Ki earned over the past two years is estimated to be about 9.2 billion won.“
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki attended the 76th Cannes Film Festival last May with the film “Hopeless”.
On June 14th, his wife Katy Louise Saunders gave birth to a son in Rome, Italy.
