During a press conference held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul on October 22, director Shin Joon and cast members Kim Byung-chul, Song Ji-hyo, and Kim Hieora attended to discuss the project.

Savior tells the story of Yeong-beom (Kim Byung-chul) and Seon-hee (Song Ji-hyo), who move to the seemingly blessed village of Obok-ri, only to experience miraculous events that come at the cost of someone else’s misfortune.

In the film, Song Ji-hyo plays Seon-hee, a woman gradually losing her sight after an accident, enduring her suffering through unwavering faith. Known for her comedic and action-packed presence on SBS’s long-running variety show Running Man, Song takes on a completely different persona here, delivering a dark and emotional performance.

Acknowledging her variety show image, Song candidly said, “If there’s a project I’m long familiar with, it’s Running Man. It’s true that image has stuck with me.” However, she added, “I’ve been acting even before Running Man, and I didn’t find this genre or role difficult. I didn’t want to overdo it I simply focused on how to portray the character best.”

A fan of the occult genre herself, she added, “I’m really excited. Though the occult can be polarizing, I’m curious how fans of the genre will receive it. I think people will relate to the themes of miracles and curses. I hope it resonates deeply.”

Savior is set to premiere on November 5.
