Song Ji-hyo Finally Won Lawsuit Against Uzurocks As The Company Did Not Appeal

On December 13th, Newsies reported, “According to the court, Song Ji-hyo’s former agency Uzurocks Entertainment did not submit an appeal to the Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Agreement Division 45 (Chief Judge Kim Kyung-soo) within the appeal period”. As the agency did not appeal the court’s ruling, Song Ji-hyo was finally confirmed to have won the case.

The period for appealing a civil lawsuit judgment is within 2 weeks from the day the judgment is announced. Song Ji-hyo received the judgment on November 23rd, and Uzurocks Entertainment is reported to have received the judgment document on the 28th, a few days later. Considering the later date of delivery of the judgment document to Uzurocks Entertainment, the deadline for filing an appeal was until midnight on December 12th.

Earlier, the court ruled that Uzurocks should pay Song Ji-hyo 984 million won. On November 22nd, the Civil Agreement Division 45 of the Seoul Central District Court ruled that Song Ji-hyo won her claim for unpaid settlement against Uzurocks.

Song Ji-hyo signed an exclusive contract with Uzurocks in October last year and filed her contract termination in April this year. In May, she sued Uzurocks to claim the amount of unpaid settlement. At that time, Song Ji-hyo also filed a complaint to the police against Uzurocks’s former CEO Park Joo-nam on charges of embezzlement.

Meanwhile, Song Ji-hyo is returning to the big screen after a long time. She recently confirmed her appearance in the movie “Meeting House” and has started preparing for the filming. Song Ji-hyo’s new agency Nexus E&M stated, “Please look forward to Song Ji-hyo’s new charm and transformation as she will prove her name as a trustworthy actress in the new work”.

“Meeting House” tells about a female prison guard with 15 years of experience meeting the daughter of a prisoner. Song Ji-hyo takes on the role of female prison guard Tae-jeo. Filming for the movie is scheduled to begin in January next year.
