Song Hye-kyo talked about the process of filming the drama “The Glory”, “This kind of acting is completely different from what I have done so far”

“I think acting is still challenging for me” – Song Hye-kyo.

Actress Song Hye-kyo expressed her feelings about Netflix’s original drama “The Glory” (written by Kim Eun-sook, directed by Ahn Gil-ho) through an interview on fashion magazine “Harper’s BAZAAR” release on February 15th.

“The Glory” centers around Dong-eun (Song Hye-kyo), who suffered brutal school violence. When the perpetrator’s child enters elementary school, Dong-eun becomes the child’s homeroom teacher and begins to take revenge.

Song Hye-kyo said, “This is my first time performing this genre, my first time playing a revenge drama”. This kind of acting is completely different from what she has shown before. She shared, “Both the drama’s color and the character are opposite to what I have done so far”, adding, “I’m looking forward to showing my new expressions and emotions”.

Song Hye-kyo has been an actress for more than 20 years. Nevertheless, she confessed that she still found acting difficult. “I have never started doing any work with the mindset, ‘I can do well because I have done this all the time’. I have been acting for a long time but I still get nervous”, the actress shared.

“I’m not the only one who is getting old, my character is also getting old like me. At this point in life, my character must have experienced all kinds of emotions, including joy, sorrow, anger and love. I have to express that aspect well. That’s why acting is getting more and more complicated”, Song Hye-kyo confessed.

Song Hye-kyo revealed that it was thanks to the production crew that she could overcome the difficulties. She said, “Luckily, I rely a lot on writer Kim Eun-sook, who has a solid script-writing skill, and director Ahn Gil-ho, whom I trust and follow”.  The actress continued, “To me, the process is really important”, adding, “Of course, the result is also important, but that’s when everything has been completed”.

When asked, “You are not alone when preparing for a drama/film, right?, Song Hye-kyo replied, “My harmony and teamwork with other people, including the director, writer, and staff, has become more valuable”.

Harper’s BAZAAR also released the cover and pictorials for the March issue. Song Hye-kyo drew attention with her stunning visual. She showed off her appearance with a chic vibe in a black suit. She put on thick smoky makeup and did various bold poses, adding to her provocative charm. The photo of her sitting on the floor and staring at the sky gave off a completely strange atmosphere. In addition, Song Hye-kyo also boasted her beautiful side profile.

Meanwhile, “The Glory” is an 8-episode drama. Being 100% pre-produced, it is set to be released this year.
