From Song Hye-kyo to Kim Hieora, “The Glory” Cast Mourns Park Ji-ah’s Passing

Following the passing of actress Park Ji-ah, her co-stars from "The Glory" are expressing their condolences

On Sep 30th, the agency Billions announced, “Actress Park Ji-ah passed away at around 2:50 AM today after battling a cerebral infarction. She was 52 years old.

Park Ji-ah debuted in the 2002 film “The Coast Guard”. She made a strong impression with her performances in films such as “Epitaph” as Asako’s mother and in “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum” as the director’s ghost. She also appeared in dramas like “Quiz of God 4”, “The Good Wife”, “The Doctors”, “Suspicious Partner”, “Judge vs. Judge”, “The Guest”, “Bloody Heart”, “Cleaning Up” and “Strong Girl Nam-soon”.

Most notably, Park Ji-ah played the role of Jung Mi-hee, the mother of Moon Dong-eun (played by Song Hye-kyo), in Netflix’s original series “The Glory”, leaving a lasting impression. Despite her limited screen time, her portrayal convincingly conveyed Moon Dong-eun’s troubled family background, deepening viewers’ engagement with the story.

The cast of “The Glory” is coming together to bid farewell to Park Ji-ah. According to OSEN on Sep 30th, her co-stars are planning to honor her through wreaths and personal visits.

Song Hye-kyo sent funeral flowers to pay her respects, while Park Sung-hoon, Jung Sung-il, Kim Hieora and Kim Gun-woo are expected to visit the funeral hall in person. While writer Kim Eun-sook, Yeom Hye-ran and Cha Joo-young have personal commitments and may not be able to attend, they are expressing their condolences in their own ways.

Meanwhile, Park Ji-ah’s funeral is being held at Seoul Asan Medical Center Funeral Hall Room 2, with the burial service scheduled for Oct 2nd at 10 AM.
